Tomorrow
June Knowles
Victory Chime
Silent coast lies
in muted shades
under somber skies…
grey arc silhouettes
dark spruces shadowed
green to black,
while an opaque sea
spills salt foam
from the bow.
No sign reveals
September’s
slant of light that
crowns the coast
and washes ocean gold…
but wait –
while day grows old,
grey skies curl a promise
at horizon’s edge.
